I mentioned before how I am going to see Mark Mulligan around Toronto. Another artist coming in with him is Kelly McGuire. I had never heard of him, so, I got one of his albums “King Of The Island”…and wow…it does have a Texas twang to it, mixed with the usual troprock, but his songs really sing in my head:
- Long time no Sea
- King of the Island
- Friends
- Nautical Man (will resonate with so many of us! Me for sure to a T)
Great album, love it, will need to get his other album “Boat in Belize” which was named album of the year in 2008 by the Texas Music Awards.
