Before buying a boat, first we thought we would investigate the marinas where we could live in around Toronto (including winter).

A quick web search revealed the following options (some info may be dated) from Toronto east to west (feel free to add / and or correct):
- Frenchmen's Bay (Pickering)
- Bluffers Park (Scarborough)
- Cathedral Bluffs Yacht Club (Scarborough)
- Marina Quay West (Toronto)
- Mimico Cruising Club (Etobicoke)
- Etobicoke Yacht Club (Etobicoke) I used to be a member there, there were only a few liveaboards, all from what I remember were sailboat...we have not decided whether we will have a sailboat or trawler yet...
- Port Credit Harbour (Mississauga)
- Port Credit Yacht Club (Mississauga)
- Macdonald Marina (Hamilton)
