Many of us, can relate to those lyrics by Kelly McGuire. Hmm…and if my boss is reading it, no I do not think you’re a jerk!
Who could be more nautical than Popeye?
Well he's read all the magazines bought all the books plotted his chorse on the chart
He's dreaming of islands and sailing away he can't wait to follow his heart
It keeps crossing his mind in his everyday grind he can't keep his mind on his work
Well he's a memo away from just leaving today and telling his boss he's a jerk
And it's heave ho throw off the lines
He's had about all he can stand
Heave ho leaving it behind
With the dreams and the schemes of a nautical man
He's saving his money ridged out his boat and already called an old flame
He knows all the hurricane harbors he knows all the islands by name
But he's sitting in traffic just trying to get home and so far he's not even close
Well this could be the night that he unties those lines
Sales off and says adios
And it's heave ho throw off the lines
He's had about all he can stand
Heave ho leaving it behind
With the dreams and the schemes of a nautical man
Now he's having his coffee enjoying the view anchored in paradise caye
It's Breakfast ashore lobster for lunch diving the reefs all day
Now there's just no regretting the state that he's now in deciding to make his escape
Tell the IRS finds out and the bank realizes he's already ten payments late
And it's heave ho throw off the lines
He's had about all he can stand
Heave ho leaving it behind
with the dreams and the schemes of a nautical man
With the dreams and the schemes of a nautical man
For sure I do!
