Bluffer's Park Marina

Yesterday we went for a drive and paid a visit to Bluffer's Park Marina in Scarborough. I had strolled by many moons ago, but it had been awhile since I had been there, as I am mostly a west ender when it comes to Toronto.

The first thing that surprised me when driving in...check this picture out:
See anything unusual?

Look carefully...Floating Houses!!! Did I just timewarp to San Francisco?? Or Vancouver??? I had no idea these even existed around Toronto...wow...kewl!

Ok, back to the marina, very inviting and welcoming. Lexie (not sure how to spell her name) was very helpful in answering our questions.  She could not give us a tour, as she was the only one in, but we will come back for a complete tour. They seem to have all kinds of facilities for us:
  • Pub
  • Restaurant
  • Beach
  • Full service center (with mechanic)
  • Fuel Dock
  • etc
Yes, you can tell my priorities from the list above! :-)

Now, for the good news...they have slips available, allow winter liveaboards (we must be crazy!)...so now we can seriously shop for boats...was getting afraid we were going to end up getting a boat with nowhere to park it!

Fees are reasonable, and they do not have this mentality of initiation fees + debentures fees that most west-end clubs have. This make no sense to us as we plan on leaving for extended period. We will visit more marinas, and I know that Port Credit Yacht Club is also pretty awesome. But I don't know...maybe we might have found our future home!

What a great and peaceful location!
