I have been wondering about these...but the reality is this. They are to take with a grain of salt. Here is why:
- Unless a boat is documented, they are not tracked at a national level
- Sales report are non existent, well almost. SoldBoats.com has sale history for boats, you can have access to this data for $600/year or if you have a friend boat broker or surveyor, they probably have access

Would that show on a report? |
To confuse matters, that are many sites to claim doing a history report. If you are shopping in US, avoid BoatFax as it is based in UK. For the other sites, fortunately, someone has done the dirty work to compare the effectiveness of each, still not great, but may be worth a try. Take a look at this Boat Histore Reviews comparison chart.
Up to you if you want to plunk $30...I may do it when I decide between my options!
If you have any experience with these services, do let me know.
Thanks!
