The first one, and fairly common is the sedan.

I am pretty general in my classification of styles. The sedan I define as having the berths located at the bow, and also not having a second cabin. They tend to have the head and galley next going towards the stern of the boat, They galley may even be part of the salon area. The key is that there is not a second cabin at the stern, but rather a door to a deck, small or larger.
Example of these are Marine Trader sedans and Mainship 34.

The image above show the common layouts. It all depend of your tasted, I really like the queen berth at the bow rather than the v-berts. Some layouts, you can even find stacked v-berts...maybe great for kids...
There is still room for occasional guests as they dinette usually also converts to a double or queen berth.
Sedans are nice in the sense that you can get a fairly large and airy lounging area. Unfortunately, I have been finding it difficult to find the queen berth layout, does not seem as common.
Also, the top-level with the flybridge can act as a large patio and gathering area for guests and parties.
